With the release of Rocstars final version I think that most common thing to do is to make an event that will present the maps in the best way. So I was thinking what kind of event would fit best and I came to decision to make a mix of KOTH (King of the Hill) and a regular KO (knockout) tournament. And here it is - RSDM! More details inside.
KOTH was a good event, but I didn't like the fact the a player who is holding the throne can drop the crown and never get a chance to get it back if he has a bad day when he is meeting the challenger. And I figured out how to improve that.
RSDM theory
In first round, two invited players (A and B) fight for the crown in best of 5 match. When player A wins and player B losses, B goes in the end of the line where he meets new challenger (C). C now plays against B and if he wins he will get a chance to meet the current owner of the crown - player A. If C losses he goes in the end of the line where he will meet new challenger - player D.
Basically, every player that losses goes in the end of the line where he meets new challenger. The circle closes after the appereance of 5th challenger.
RSDM practice
Here is more practical explanation.
First round: A vs B (A wins B goes in the end of the line)
New challenger: C vs B (B wins C goes in the end of the line)
B challenges A for the throne: B vs A (B wins and claims the throne, A is now second in line C is still third)
New challenger: D vs C (D wins, C goes in the end of the line)
D challenges A for the chance to meet A: D vs A (D wins and gets the chance to challenge B, A is now third in a line)
D challenges b for the throne: D vs B (D wins and owns the throne, B is second in the line)
New challenger: E vs C (C wins, E is in the end of the line)
C challenges A: C vs A (A wins, C is 4th in a line)
A challengers B: A vs B (A wins and gets chance to challenger D for the title, B is 3rd in a line)
Final match: A vs D (D wins and claims the title, A is second)
Final order:
1. D
2. A
3. B
4. C
5. E
So everyone has multiple chances to retake their lost crown. Stay tuned for the updates!
