BMF TOURNAMENT HITS ITS 50TH EDITION

Arguably the most active tournament organization of the present hits its 50th edition this weekend. Achievement like that surely deserves attention and recognition so I decided to give it some.

BMF tournaments was launched in the late July of 2011. As numerous tournament formats that were created by many players who were inspired by my W3CUP that was launched in 2006, BMF didn't look much different than another copy.

With that "nothing new to offer" stuff and a pretty young and pretty good game player as a head administrator - RainyMonday, experienced ones would say that BMF would be closed after its 5th edition. Mostly because it is widely accepted as a fact that good players are often bad administrators. Not in this case.

And it really did look like that is going to happen. First few editions attracted nothing but average players, which I am not saying that is bad but the fact is that great players are something you want to have when you are making a tournament, right? However, this changed after a while mostly because RainyMonday's efforts and dedication.

And this is the moment when I am going to write something that you will rarely have a chance to see. I am going to write few good words for RainyMonday

He did come on the scene a bit late but no one can deny that he became very good player in very short period of time. In less than one year he became capable to play on the same level as some monsters like Pumpaaja-Eki or S_A_I_B_O_T. Even tho it was with Night elf, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because it is legal.

With all that ego that rapidly boosted and with all those emotions that he had to deal with it was everything but easy for him. And I personally like how he handled out with all of that. Despite of his age, he professionally handles every situation in his tournament. Haters who got banned from those events got banned for their own fault. Yea, I was thinking of trollinho.

Even tho BMF tournaments were intentionally created to oppose my W3CUP's I were only supporting this organization from its very beginnings. From very well done statistics you can see that I participated 8 times. And each time before I participated I was personally invited by RainyMonday and treated with a lot of care and kindness. It was mentioned that I am banned on trollarena bots but RainyMonday would find another bot to host my games. Thanks for that.

With detailed statistics, great hosting bots and very professional organization, BMF is arguably the best place you can play a tournament even tho it has some flaws.

Yea, cool water is one of them. Not because people are spreading rumors that it is contaminated but because it just doesn't go with gaming spirit. It is like giving a soccer ball to a kid who wants to become a basketball player. If someone failed with cool water and he still wants to be the reason why the people are laughing that is okay. But for 50th edition that should be a crown of some past works it is not cool to have cool water as a main prize pool.

The other flaw is the bracket generation system which is supposed to be related to the ladder. In this case is not and people are not seeded by their ladder rank but by the subjective point of view of tournament administrator. It kills the point of playing multiple tournaments because no matter how high you climb on that ladder, RainyMonday will give you his own rating before he releases tournament brackets.

Taking all into consideration, BMF are great stuff and a must play if you are rising Roc star. On the following link you can check out details and register for the 50th edition.

Just do me one thing. Don't get sad if you don't win a prize. You will always have another chance in one of the trollarena events.
