THE LIST PART TWO

The story continues with the second part. I know you waited a bit longer but I believe that everyone will find something in this article. Some will find knowledge, some lost memories and some will even find their own name in this list. Check it out to see where you belong.

MTW-TAK3R
Last time I opened my article with Tillerman who I consider to be a true legend and mastermind. This time I am doing exactly the same by picking German player, Tak3r to open the second part of this great list.
Tak3r is one of the most significant figures in Warcraft 3 history. His way of playing was unique, original and above everything effective. His trademark was usage of Orc towers to the limits of impossible. He mastered it to perfection, or better, to the level where his opponents knew what he will do but they had no power to stop it.
His lack of micro game never suffered because timing, perfect knowledge of macro game and versatile way of tower rushing would always give him advantage.
TowerTak3r or Master of Towers as people used to call him, drastically changed the early game of all other 3 races. Human players were now placing their first or second farm long in front of their base so they could get better overview of the field where Tak3r could place his towers. Nigh Elves were no longer placing their AoFW's and Moon Wells in a so called "bunker" position, but wide open. Undeads were now placing a Ziggurat behind their base on Legends. Whole ladder and tournament scene knew what this player was doing but their inability to stop him was his creativity and genius.
Other than Tower Rush strategies, Tak3r was also known as Wyvern user often making several expansion and each protecting with "at least 5 towers"
It would take me a day to write about him and it wouldn't be enough. So those who are eager to find out more about this true master mind check out interview that WCReplays did with him few years ago.

DRAAKKI
Draakki is Night elf player from Finland who indeed started to play the game very early but became quite popular and respected somewhere during 2005. Often categorized as simple Meta abuser he was underrated for long time. Even I couldn't help myself, calling him newbie and trying to lower his value because of his simple way of playing several times.
Truth is that Draakki is everything but newbie and Meta abuser. Even tho he started to play on top level during the era where you could meet numerous Night Elf players in ladder and clan leagues who were just pumping out Archers and trying to get their Demon Hunter on level six in six minutes, Draakki can't be put in that category. Often using three heroes combined with Tier 2 or Tier 3 units one could say that there is a genius sleeping in his gamestyle that shines from time to time.
His biggest achievements which gave him recognition and great load of respect was winning clan leagues hosted by Replayers and W3roc. Along with Pumpa, Shogun, Haburinho, eS.Rus and me he was a part of a team that attended W3roc clan league and went over the best USA team of all times consisted of players like Nihor, Chico, Leetness and back then rising star LNo with overall of score 5-1 dropping only one 2v2 match. By the way, this clan war confirmed the supremacy Europe had over USA since forever.

ACIDPSYCHO
AcidPycho is Night elf player from Russia. This great legend achieved his first rank 1 in 1.03 version playing Night elf the way it is now played in funny custom games where "very skilled" and "very important" players of presence are trying to look cool by doing cool things.
It is sad to see that player like AcidPcycho had million times greater knowledge of the race and the game in 2003 than Night elf players of the presence have today. Million strategies, million improvisations and million ideas that this man served on a plate are now all traded for Mass-Archer-Creep-My-DH strategy.
Back in his era AofW's had fortified armor permanently. He was first one to lift his AofW and to creep with it. After realizing that by making AofW his Food limit and Game economy don't suffer and that AofW can be great warrior he started to mass them.
His second trademark would be stoppage of Human expansion and abuse of the position on Lost Temple. Constantly burning Archmage's mana he would neutralize and leave opponents Footmen powerless against incoming Hunters.
If you are laddering you might have seen some AcidPsycho accounts or similar names. Don't think for a second that this is the real one because he doesn't play Roc anymore. Unfortunately.

ARNORC
ArnOrc is Orc player from France. He is very well known as teammate of ByYyron- and DaM_Solo with who he achieved some insane Arranged Team records and levels in the past.
Personally, I consider him to be the best Arranged Team player of all times. He has insane Macro game knowledge when it comes to this game type and he is able to carry his weaker teammates to victory with great timing and tactics which he mastered.
He is also great Solo player who always tends to outsmart his opponent and gladly joins brain wars rather than micro wars.

HOFFMAN
Hoffman is Orc player from some islands which are part of African continent. Excuse me for not being able to remember but he told me this information years ago. You are guessing that the main problem for his gaming career was obvious distance from his internet provider to Telia server. Playing with ping which averaged 400 didn't kill his passion for the game.
He was first player in the world to get 1500 icon and first player in the world to get two 1500 icons. Always being kind, objective and fair when it comes to gaming, Hoffman is a true example that being a legend doesn't require tournament trophies, amazing ladder rank or l33t stats.

NIHOR (don't cry for screenshot)

Don't be sad because you will not be able to see this guy's screenshot. I will tell you that you wouldn't miss anything.
Nihor is Orc player from Canada. He made his nickname in pretty common way - his real name is Rohin. Next to the RoTaNiMoD that I mentioned in first part of this great list Nihor is one of those USA players that I just have to mention.
He was mostly known for his smurfing on all servers, playing Orc race on highest levels. Using Blademaster when only few players were doing it and combining it with Raiders to get Nuke power to its highest level. One controversy during 2004 when his account got banned for unknown reasons pushed him in TFT where he tried to build up international name without success. However, he still remains one of the legends from the weaker server. If you want to check how Nihor used to play feel free to download his replays here.

ES.RUS
Undead player, eS.Rus is obviously from Russia. Would be funny if he was from China but can't do nothing about that.
If I was forced to pick, under the treat of death, the best Undead player of all times I will pick eS.Rus. Why?
Well because this legend had this Solo record which you can see from screenshot up there on 28.8k internet connection speed. Level 53 with godlike stats in competition with the strongest group of ladder players of all times, being absolute top on 28.8k connection. I had myself 56k and level 55 and my ping used to vary from 140-190. Ruslan's ping was constantly 250, sometimes even higher and he was able to deal with it without problem.
Having the worst connection of all players I knew back then, shitty PC which had troubles opening Lines application and playing mostly fiends which indeed required great micro game eS.Rus holds the title of the best Undead player in my little notebook.
What I was saying for Ojune's ghouls in part one I can say for Ruslan's fiends and I can triple that. He was indeed one of a kind in his time.

1987ORC
Known under the account 1987orC, Humberto is the best person in Warcraft 3 community I know and also my best Warcraft 3 buddy. I don't know if that is because of his Spanish mentality but this guy is a noble gentleman and loyal friend, always giving his support and help without asking something in return.
He is known by his programming skills in Visual Basic and other programs that I can't name simply because I don't know any other that VB.
You are probably asking yourself how the hell was he able to make this record if he is programer and doesn't play Warcraft at all. Well I will tell you one secret. Humberto was born in 1988.
Account 1987orC was my Solo account. I gave it as a gift to my best buddy so he could have a proper account to represent his godlike programing skills.
I am glad that he has always been proud of me the same way I was proud of him. Because of his amazing Stealthbot scripts, constant help and support I was able to materialize my ideas. Everything I wanted to be done and made he was making in a matter of minutes.
One of his most notable programs are Maps configuration for Ghost, Ladder clan ranking calculator, Tournament scripts and list goes on.
Being Shaman in clan w3, admin of W3Roc and now admin of Replayers, he is an icon and the legend.

To be continued in part three.

  1. Interesting list, and nice to see Tak3r in there.

But I was surprised about Draakki. Was he really on a comparable level with some of the big names like Pumppaaja or Saibot? I remember some years ago when he was still rank 1 in ladder, he challenged some no-name Human player from TFT into a bo3 or bo5, and got absolutely DOMINATED. Does anyone else recall that? Ever since then I've always thought he was just a typical run-of-the-mill elf.

  9. I kind of think if you keep listing players of these caliber, ur Legendary List will go on for a long time because there are so many players of the same caliber... hoffman, draakki, arno, rotan, golan etc, a bit ordinary because they did not cement anything in their time. even, nihor and orco etc are hard to swallow as legends as they didnt cement anything. nihor was a great orc but he only had a little success in ladder by imitating bm grunts from tft. etc.

Agree: Tillerman, Orcouser, Ojune, TAK3R, acidpsycho, nihor,

    "Normal" Players: n811, golan,rotan, draakki, es.rus, arnorc,

Completely Subjective opinion of normal players: hardkilla, zen, hoffman, 1987orc,
