THE BEST ONE

Since many years, www.replayers.com has been my favorite gaming website. And for good reason!
First and absolutely the most important thing is that I don't get that color and image shock when I take a look at it in the morning. Having a coffie and relaxed awakening is what I like. Not stressful places where I get the feeling that some creepy monster is about to jump out of my screen and punch me with some badly cut header or picture that is about to fall from its place.

I understand drug users even tho I don't do drugs. I also understand people who have some sort of mental anomaly because I've seen main weird movies as a bad part of my university education. But I seriously believed that these people are well hidden in their dark rooms along with their stunted cats, waiting for 21.12.2012. and telling everyone in internet chat rooms that it is good that world will be destroyed in some space cataclysm because the world sucks.

Screw them, lets go back to replayers. It's a good place to be. Simple, original and full of memories. Everyone who started to play this game, even if that was on the very beginning, knows that first community which gathered all type of ROC gamers under one roof was replayers. And even if they don't know about this fact they know by themselves because their first step in this never-drying swamp which we also call ROC was made on replayers. 

In the past many organized communities tried to substitute replayers with their websites, forums, tournaments and new approach to the users. But none succeeded. Not even www.w3roc.com which had more than 2500 registered users couldn't compete with people's desire to daily visit replayers. All those forcefully made posts in new good looking forums, mannered behaving, great tournaments and leagues with prizes and above everything, some new action with every new day, weren't enough for the fans of this beautiful game to make a turnaround and the final switch from one place to another.

I find the argument for this in the perception of first love which you never get out of you head. Even if with time it gets old and changed, and gets the face which you are not able to recognize anymore you will have that worm inside your head which will work with an intention to make you believe that it never changed. That it remained the same as it was when you fall in love with it for the first time.To find another reason to ask someone or to check by yourself if it is still the same as it was. And when you confirm that it still holds the same place and attitude you feel better. Better because you get to remind yourself that you were part of something that is greater than yourself.

"Is the good old replayers still up?" I get to see that sentence pops up from time to time from people who were inactive in our community or they pretend to be inactive to check out if anyone missed them by the time they weren't present. That's how activity is presented in online gaming. People go for 7 days holiday and write in their profile that they were inactive for 7 days. Now imagine how active is replayers when it has been online for 10 years. 

Total of 7 days per week * total of 52 weeks per year * total of 10 years gives up great sum of 3640 days. That's how big replayers is. 

The size or the part that replayers has in the whole community is far bigger than any other. Simply because you don't identify replayers with one person, one type of behavior, one type of replays. It is not restricted area where bunch of wanna-be-important barely legal types of people are trying to promote their face and to put in on untouchable place. 

No, replayers allows everyone to be what they are comfortable to be. Be a pro, newb, wannabe, active, inactive, important, unimportant, Spanish, Russian, French, Australian or Chinese you are welcome. You are welcome to express your happiness of beating players who are better than you, who are less good, hackers, idiots and list goes on. You are welcome to express your anger, to rage from replay to replay and to seek attention. To become icon in spamming and spreading hate if you are unable to become icon in the battlefield. You are allowed and welcome to flame admins for their descriptions on top and rotw replays. Descriptions which mostly suck as much as wall of text composed of nonsense and pointless talk forwarded to some nonsense and pointless idiot in never-ending argue over who's dad has bigger penis. They suck, because they are not necessary. We can live without them. Replayers can live without them. Or it can't?

It is community site, and that community is greater than its name. That is why no other website never succeeded to be grow bigger than replayers. Because replayers's communities made those sites. People who were unhappy about some particular things being done tried to separate from the one big entity and to create another, better. Better like more fair to their needs. The one that will give them recognition and respect. The one that will be created by their hand, shaped by their fingers and colored with their wishes. 

And that is why those sites suck. Because they offer the best possible things to those who created them. They are like selfish elder brother who wants to play with his baby brother only if the young one is playing by his rules. And rules suck. There is always one side making rules and another one "respecting" them. 

The motto is "Break the rule you are out!" I have a question - Out of where? Communities are created by people who are supporting them, not by the rule makers.

Replayers has no strict and written rules. There are of course common sense rules. "Don't rate rop/rotw replays with 1/10." I mean that's common sense. But even when it comes to rating you know that some small group of cyber criminals will act against the common sense. They will put 1/10 rating with a juicy comment, denying that there was any micro and action in the material they rated. However, replayers understands them and embraces them. Replayers takes easy on their frustration and sadness. They are welcome to rate now to eternity. Because they are accepted just the way they are.

That's why replayers is so great. It accepts you the way you are, giving you colors and shapes with time. You get friends and enemies, those must have relations. There is no hierarchy which kills the open minded point of view and discussion which are we need if we want to raise on the next level of anything. No rules and no boundaries. Laughs and tears. For everyone.
